About

Dr Nicholas Yeo is a dual fellowship-trained Senior Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon with excellent professional and academic qualifications. He served as the Director of the Foot and Ankle Service at Singapore General Hospital from 2020-2023 and is a Clinical Assistant Professor at Duke-NUS Medical School.

Dr Nicholas Yeo graduated from the National University of Singapore in 2007. He went on to complete specialist training in Orthopaedic Surgery and was appointed as Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh (Orthopaedics and Trauma) in 2015. Thereafter, he was awarded the Health Manpower Development Plan (HMDP) Scholarship from the Ministry of Health to pursue advanced subspecialty training in Foot and Ankle surgery. He completed a year-long fellowship at the prestigious University of British Columbia, Canada where he honed his skills and knowledge in treating complex foot and ankle injuries. In addition, he was awarded the AO fellowship at the University Hospital Carl Gustav Carus, Germany in lower limb trauma and reconstructive surgery. This further augmented his transatlantic perspective and skillset in lower limb reconstructive surgery.

His subspecialty interests are in foot and ankle, sports and reconstructive surgery. In particular, he is a strong advocate of minimally invasive or keyhole surgery. Of note, he is one of a handful of surgeons with vast experience in keyhole bunion surgery. He also has a keen interest in harnessing 3D printing technology to develop patient specific implants and guides to improve clinical outcomes in lower limb reconstruction and deformity correction surgery. Having served as a clinical collaborator and key advisor at the SGH 3D printing centre, he is at the forefront of this cutting edge technology.

Dr Nicholas Yeo is a dedicated healthcare professional who prioritises exceptional patient care, earning him multiple Singapore General Hospital Best Service Awards. He embodies the motto of ‘putting patients at the heart of all we do’ in his clinical practice. With extensive expertise, he has been invited to speak at local and international orthopaedic conferences and has contributed over fifty publications to peer-reviewed journals, including book chapters. In recognition of his research on Bicompartmental Knee Arthroplasty, he received the esteemed Singapore Orthopaedic Association Young Orthopaedic Investigator Award in 2014.

Despite his busy schedule, Dr Nicholas Yeo is committed to giving back to the community. He serves as the Chairman of Queenstown Multi-Service Centre which provides day rehabilitation services for the elderly. In addition, he maintains a keen passion and involvement in sports. He captained his varsity tennis team to a winning campaign and was awarded university colours for his contribution to the sport. Having played tennis at a high level, he is uniquely placed to understand the issues faced by the injured sportsman and be able to guide them through their rehabilitation journey. Over the years, he has treated multiple national athletes and successfully journeyed with them through full recovery.
