About
Dr Kang Ning is a cardiothoracic surgeon at Mount Alvernia Hospital. His subspecialties are thoracic and vascular surgery, and cardiac surgery in adults.
Dr Kang treats various conditions including coronary artery disease, lung cancer, lung nodules, valve repair/replacement, and valvular heart disease. He also specialises in video-assisted thoracoscopic surgery in variant thoracic diseases.
Dr Kang trained at Vancouver General Hospital and St Paul Hospital, Canada, and did his second fellowship at Shanghai Chest Hospital, China. He has been practising medicine for more than 20 years. He has performed more than 200 surgeries in 2021 and near 300 surgeries in 2022, half of which are cardiac, and the remaining thoracic. He was the only cardiothoracic surgeon to perform both cardiac and thoracic surgery in Singapore’s public hospitals since 2016.
Dr Kang is an adjunct assistant professor at Duke-NUS Medical School. His research interest includes lung cancer. He is also a visiting consultant at National Heart Centre Singapore and Tan Tock Seng Hospital.
He is a recipient of several Singapore Health Quality Service Awards.
