About

Dr Ong Sea Hing is a cardiologist who subspecialises in coronary artery angioplasty and stenting including complex coronary interventions. He is also trained in structural heart interventions.

Dr Ong graduated from the University of Malaya in 2000. He later obtained the MRCP (UK) and Master of Medicine (Internal Medicine) from the National University of Singapore in 2004, and completed cardiology training at Changi General Hospital and the National Heart Centre. He was accredited as a Cardiology Specialist by the Ministry of Health, Singapore in 2008. From 2010 to 2011, he undertook advanced training at the Siegburg Heart Centre in Germany under the SingHealth HMDP award, focusing on coronary interventions and structural heart procedures such as TAVI, percutaneous mitral valve repair, and left atrial appendage occlusion.

He has been actively involved in medical education and training throughout his career. He served as a Core Faculty member of the SingHealth Cardiology Senior Residency Program and as a Clinical Senior Lecturer at the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, National University of Singapore.

Over his tenure at Changi General Hospital, he held key leadership roles, including serving as Director of the only JCI-accredited Acute Myocardial Infarction (Heart Attack) Program in Singapore from 2008 to 2015. He has also been invited as faculty to multiple regional cardiology conferences and has presented internationally, earning accolades such as Best Challenging Case at the TCT competition. In addition, he has contributed to public education initiatives, including forums and general practitioner symposiums on the prevention and early detection of heart disease.

Dr Ong has contributed to cardiology research, with his work published in peer-reviewed medical journals.
