About

Dr Tan Kar Su is an Ear, Nose and Throat (ENT) specialist with a subspecialty in facial plastic surgery, focusing on rhinoplasty. After completing his ENT training, he spent one year at Shimmian Rhinoplasty Clinic in Seoul, South Korea, a high-volume rhinoplasty centre, where he performed rhinoplasty and facial bone surgeries on both Korean and international patients.

Following his training, Dr Tan served as a Consultant in the Facial Plastics Service at Khoo Teck Puat Hospital ENT Department, managing patients with functional and cosmetic rhinoplasty needs.

Dr Tan’s experience in Korea and Singapore has provided him with insights into both Oriental and Caucasian rhinoplasty techniques. By combining strengths from both approaches, he employs a hybrid technique aimed at optimising both the form and function of the nose. He regularly updates his skills at international rhinoplasty masterclasses and conferences to stay current with advances in the field.

He advocates the use of autologous (patient’s own) materials in rhinoplasty for safety, natural appearance, and durability. With his foundation in ENT, Dr Tan also emphasises the functional aspect of the nose, ensuring that his procedures preserve or improve nasal airflow while achieving the desired aesthetic outcome.
