About

Dr Andy Wee is double fellowship trained senior consultant and orthopaedic surgeon. Prior to him joining the Pinnacle Orthopaedic Group, he was the Head of Department of Orthopaedic Surgery and Sports Medicine at Khoo Teck Puat Hospital. He is one of few Orthopaedic Surgeons in Singapore who has completed 2 separate prestigious North American fellowships and underwent formal training in 2 areas of sub-specialty: Shoulder and Elbow Surgery, as well as Arthroscopic and Sports Surgery of the knee, hip and ankle.

Dr Wee graduated from National University of Singapore in 1999 and completed his post-graduate specialist training in the field of Orthopaedic Surgery in 2009. Dr Wee then underwent formal subspecialty fellowship training in Shoulder and Elbow Surgery at the Mayo Clinic (USA) in 2010, and Orthopaedic Sports and Arthroscopy (key-hole surgery) fellowship at the Fowler Kennedy Sports Medicine Clinic (Canada) in 2011. Dr Wee then became Head of Department of Orthopaedic Surgery and Sports Medicine, Khoo Teck Puat Hospital in 2013. He remained Head of Department till he joined the Pinnacle Orthopaedic Group in 2016.

His current practice largely revolves around performing Shoulder and Elbow surgery, including fracture fixation, joint reconstruction/replacement and arthroscopic repair/reconstruction, as well Arthroscopic and Sports Surgery of the knee, hip and ankle. He is one of few surgeons who is well-versed in arthroscopy (key-hole surgery) of the shoulder, elbow, hip, knee and ankle, and has performed over two thousand arthroscopic procedures over the last 10 years.

An avid sportsman, Dr Wee was a SSRA (Singapore Squash Racket Association) ‘A’ grade ex- national squash player, representing Singapore in his younger years. He has won numerous awards in local and international tournaments. As a sports surgeon, Dr Wee has treated numerous elite national and competitive athletes with various sporting injuries.

Dr Wee has presented in many regional and international conferences, and has won several awards for his research efforts, most notably the prestigious Singapore Orthopaedic Association Young Orthopaedic Investigator award in 2010.
