About
Dr Benji Lim is an Interventional Cardiologist with extensive experience in coronary angiography and percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI), also known as coronary angioplasty or stenting, having performed over 2,000 PCIs as the primary operator.
He graduated from Trinity College Dublin in 2007, completed his Membership of the Royal College of Physicians (UK) in 2012, and Advanced Specialist Training in Cardiology in 2015. In 2017, he underwent a fellowship in Interventional Cardiology at Inselspital, University of Bern, Switzerland. Before joining Novena Heart Centre, he was a Senior Consultant Cardiologist at Changi General Hospital and Visiting Consultant at the National Heart Centre Singapore.
Dr Lim served as Associate Program Director of the SingHealth Cardiology Senior Residency Programme (2018-2024) and held academic appointments as Clinical Assistant Professor at SingHealth Duke-NUS and Senior Clinical Lecturer at the National University of Singapore. He has received multiple awards for his contributions to education and patient care, including the SingHealth Quality Service Gold Award (2022) and the SingHealth Residency Outstanding Faculty Award (2020).
His research has been published in international journals such as Circulation and the Journal of the Asian Pacific Society of Cardiology, and he is a regular speaker at regional and international conferences.
Dr Lim’s clinical interests include the prevention and management of coronary artery disease and its risk factors, such as diabetes, hypertension, and hypercholesterolaemia. He also has a special interest in sports cardiology and is a certified Exercise is Medicine practitioner.
