About

Dr Bhavesh Doshi is a senior consultant gastroenterologist with over 25 years’ experience. His subspeciality interest include advanced endoscopy such as ERCP and EUS. He has spent the last 20 years treating complex pancreatobiliary diseases at large teaching hospital institutions such as National University Hospital Singapore, University Hospital Aintree and Royal Liverpool Hospital (both located in Liverpool, UK). In addition, he also does endoscopic cancer screening, removal of large/complex polyps and lesions, treating GI bleeding, placement of feeding tubes and other complex endoscopic procedures.

Dr Bhavesh Doshi graduated from the University of Nottingham in 1997 and has trained as a specialist gastroenterologist at the Mersey Deanery (Liverpool training programe). He then completed an Advanced Endoscopy Fellowship (at the Mersey School of Endoscopy) with his focus on Endoscopic therapy in Pancreatico-biliary diseases, cancer diagnosis and therapy. During this time, he was awarded the British Society of Gastroenterology award to visit the Medical University of South Carolina at Charleston, US.

Over the past 20 years, Dr Bhavesh Doshi has developed and cultivated his practice in endoscopy having performed more than 15000 scopes both in the UK and in Singapore. These ranged from the simplest diagnostic scopes to the most complex scopes with a referral base extending across hospitals in Singapore and Internationally.

Dr Doshi served as Director of Endoscopy at NUHS between 2017- 2020 and was the 1st director in more than a decade to secure funding for the expansion of Endoscopy Centre. He worked full time at NUH from 2009 to 2022 and even now continues to support NUH for complex cases as a visiting consultant.
He worked as a visiting consultant in KTPH and NTFGH even whilst working full time at NUHS.
Through most of his career at NUHS he had the highest workload for complex endoscopic procedures and had excellent working relationships with both surgical and oncology colleagues. He was also the lead ERCP operator for post liver transplant complex biliary strictures, leaks, and bile duct stones. In addition, Dr Doshi performed tertiary level endoscopy for pancreatic lesions such as pancreatic cancer, pancreatic neuroendocrine tumours, pancreatic cyst diagnosis and drainage of pancreatic cyst.

Dr Doshi is a firm believer in multidisciplinary care and was regularly involved with Pancreatobiliary tumour board and liver transplant meetings when at NUHS and was also the founding member of the original pancreas clinic at NUHS.
