About

Dr Desmond Ooi is a senior consultant with accreditation in General Surgery with sub-specialist interest in Vascular & Endovascular surgery.

He obtained Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons (FRCS Edinburgh) and received a Master of Medicine (Surgery) from NUS. Following the completion of his specialist training in Singapore, he spent a year in Manchester, UK for further advanced vascular training.

Dr Ooi is an expert in the treatment of the full spectrum of vascular conditions with keen interests in minimally invasive treatments (Endovascular) of varicose veins, aortic aneurysms, wound care and peripheral artery diseases associated with diabetes mellitus.

In addition, he has over 15 years experience practicing a wide repertoire of general surgery procedures including, endoscopy, hernia repair, gallbladder and gastrointestinal surgery.

Dr Ooi is dedicated to providing holistic, patient-centered care. He believes good communication empowers patients and their caregivers to participate in their care. He is fluent in English, Chinese, Malay, Hokkien and Cantonese.
