About
Dr Diana Chan is a specialist in Anaesthesiology and Pain Medicine. She graduated from Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, National University of Singapore in 2008 and received her postgraduate Master of Medicine (Anaesthesiology) degree in 2013. She went on to complete her pain medicine fellowship training at the Department of Pain Medicine in Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital, Western Australia and concurrently completed her Masters of Clinical Investigation degree from 2015-2016. During her fellowship, she was trained in both multidisciplinary pain management and advanced interventional pain medicine. She was also trained in both women’s and children’s pain management during her fellowship. She currently holds the Fellow of Interventional Pain Practice (FIPP) certificate and a European Diploma of Regional Anaesthesia and Graduate Diploma in Acupuncture.
Prior to joining private practice, Dr Chan was senior consultant and head of department of Pain Medicine in the Division of Anaesthesiology at Singapore General Hospital. She was director of Pain Services in SKH prior. She founded the SingHealth Duke-NUS Pain Centre, a cluster pain centre aimed to harmonise pain practice guidelines and to streamline the patient’s pain recovery from primary care to tertiary care, and to community care. As head, this centre was the first of its kind in Singapore and internationally. She founded the Community Pain Service of SingHealth (COMPASS) during COVID, a service collaborating with community partners to reach out to isolated chronic pain patients. As an avid clinician and researcher, she is also widely published for her expertise.
A national canoeist in junior college and a mother of 2 young boys juggling multiple hats, Dr Chan understands the aches and pain conditions that pervade the population. She is passionate about providing comprehensive, dedicated and individualised care to each patient who comes her way, and strives to do her best for her patients.
