Dr Hong Soo Wan graduated from the National University of Singapore in 1986. Subsequently, he obtained fellowship of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow in 1992. Dr Hong then went on to pursue further training in the subspecialty of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and underwent a one-year fellowship in London during 1996. Upon its completion, he became a Fellow of the Academy of Medicine, Singapore in 1998.
Dr. Hong’s practice comprises mainly cosmetic surgery, including blepharoplasty, rhinoplasty, chin augmentation, ear pinback surgery and facelifts. He does body contouring with liposuction, lipectomy, abdominoplasty and breast surgery, which includes augmentation, reduction, mastopexy and nipple surgery.
The areas of Dr. Hong’s sub-specialty interest lie in breast reconstruction after mastectomy using implants or flaps, the usage of costal cartilage in ear reconstruction for congenital ear deformities, such as microtia, facial reanimation for facial palsy using microsurgical transfer of muscle flaps, hand surgery and reconstructive microsurgery.
Active in the medical community, Dr Hong is a member of the Singapore Association of Plastic Surgeons, Singapore Society for Cosmetic (Aesthetic) Surgeons and Singapore Society for Laser Surgery and Medicine.
