About

Dr Janice Liao is a Senior Consultant in Hand and Reconstructive Microsurgery. Born in Taiwan and raised in New Zealand, she completed her MBBS in Australia in 2009 before relocating to Singapore in 2012. She completed her specialist training in Hand Surgery in 2019 and was awarded the College of Surgeons Gold Medal as the top-performing candidate.

She previously served as a Consultant in Hand and Reconstructive Microsurgery with the National University Health System (NUHS), where she gained 15 years of experience in hand surgery, spanning specialist training and subsequent specialist practice across National University Hospital, Ng Teng Fong General Hospital and Alexandra Hospital.

Her clinical expertise focuses on the management of acute hand and wrist injuries in children and adults, including paediatric hand injuries and sports-related injuries in children and adolescents.

She also manages compressive neuropathies such as carpal tunnel syndrome and a wide range of degenerative and overuse conditions, including trigger finger, De Quervain’s tenosynovitis, ganglion cysts, and osteoarthritis.

Dr Liao believes in tailoring treatment to each patient to minimise pain and restore function, helping them return to their daily activities, work, and hobbies.
