Dr Jennifer Liauw graduated from The University of Manchester, UK in 1996. After obtaining her Membership from The Royal College of Surgeons of England (MRCS) in 1999, she embarked on her higher surgical training in the North West of England. She subsequently moved back to Singapore to complete her training at the Department of Surgery, National University Hospital (NUH) and was awarded the Fellowship in General Surgery from The Royal College of Surgeons in Edinburgh and became registered as a fully accredited specialist in general surgery by the Ministry of Health in 2004. She became a Fellow of The Academy of Medicine, Singapore in 2005.

Dr Liauw went back to the UK in 2005 as a Fellow in Colorectal Surgery in the John Radcliffe Hospital, Oxford under Prof Neil Mortensen to complete her subspecialty training in colorectal surgery.

Following that, she returned to Singapore to work in the Division of Colorectal Surgery, NUH and led the establishment of CARET, a one-stop service for rectal bleeding and the Pelvic Floor Centre.

Special Interests Dr Liauw has a special interest in colorectal disorders that commonly affect women, in particular; anal fissures, hemorrhoids (piles), pelvic floor disorders and functional bowel disorders. Moreover, she feels passionately about empowering her patients to make informed decisions and choices. Therefore, she decided to set up a dedicated private colorectal surgery practice to support patients who have a preference for female colorectal surgeons.
