She became a Fellow of The Academy of Medicine, Singapore in 2005.

Dr Liauw went back to the UK in 2005 as a Fellow in Colorectal Surgery in the John Radcliffe Hospital, Oxford under Prof Neil Mortensen to complete her subspecialty training in colorectal surgery.

Following that, she returned to Singapore to work in the Division of Colorectal Surgery, NUH and led the establishment of CARET, a one-stop service for rectal bleeding and the Pelvic Floor Centre.

Special Interests Dr Liauw has a special interest in colorectal disorders that commonly affect women, in particular; anal fissures, hemorrhoids (piles), pelvic floor disorders and functional bowel disorders.
