About

Dr Kenneth Liew graduated top of his cohort from the National University of Singapore (NUS) in 1990 and was awarded the Gibbs Gold Medal & Ciba-Geigy Book Prize. He subsequently trained for 5 years in Internal Medicine and was awarded the Sir Gordan Arthur Ransome Gold Medal for being the most outstanding candidate in the Masters of Medicine Examination at NUS in 1995. Dr Liew then pursued specialist training in Gastroenterology & Hepatology at Tan Tock Seng Hospital in 1996-1997. In 1996, Dr Liew was conferred the Membership of the Royal Colleges of Physicians (UK) and the Fellowship of the Royal College of Physicians (Edinburgh) in 2001. As a MOH Health Manpower Development Plan (HMDP) Scholar in Clinical Hepatology, Dr Liew then spent about one year from 1998-1999 training at the Centre of Liver & Digestive Disorders and Scottish Liver Transplantation Unit, Royal Infirmary Edinburgh in Scotland, UK. Soon after his return from the UK, he was appointed Consultant Physician & Gastroenterologist at Tan Tock Seng Hospital where he held a concurrent academic appointment as Senior Clinical Lecturer in Medicine, Yong Loo Lin (YLL) School of Medicine, NUS. In 2006, Dr Liew commenced private practice at Mount Alvernia Hospital and for a season held the adjuctive position of Assistant Professor of Medicine at the YLL School of Medicine, NUS. In addition to diagnostic and therapeutic upper endoscopy and colonoscopy, Dr Liew’s spectrum of practice includes digestive disorders & liver problems, with a special interest in Hepatitis B infections and Fatty Liver Disease.
