About
Dr Lam completed his specialist training in Orthopaedic Surgery in 2014. He is actively involved in research in paediatric trauma, limb lengthening and deformity correction, sports injuries and 3D-printing. Dr Lam is also a committee member of the Singapore Orthopaedic Association Humanitarian and Outreach Subcommittee. He takes time off his work to care for the underprivileged in Singapore and our regional countries.
He has completed an arthroscopy and knee fellowship at the Centre of Albert Trillat, Hospital de la Croix-Rousse in Lyon, under Professor Philippe Neyret, and a paediatric orthopaedics fellowship at the Great Ormond Street Hospital, and University College Hospital London (UCLH) in London, under Professor Andreas Roposch.
He helped set up the Limb Lengthening and Deformity Clinic in KKH in 2018, and is a pioneer in the use of 3D-printing in deformity correction in this region. He is also well recognized for his work in the region, being awarded the prestigious Asia Pacific Paediatric Orthopaedics Travelling Fellowship in 2019.
Dr Lam is also active in the education field, and has organized regional educational events like the 1st ASEAN deformity correction course, and the KKH Paediatric Orthopaedic Trauma symposiums. For his dedication to teaching, he has also been awarded the Outstanding Faculty Award in 2018/2019 by SingHealth Residency.
Dr Lam is the first and remains the only Orthopaedic surgeon in Singapore, to obtain the Diploma of Children’s Orthopaedics from the European Paediatric Orthopaedic Society.
