About
Dr. Terry Teo Hong Lee is an orthopaedic surgeon with a focus on spine health and surgery. He is experienced in minimally invasive techniques, robotic-assisted procedures, and advanced spinal instrumentation. His key areas of expertise include managing degenerative spine conditions and deformities, spinal injuries, and performing endoscopic and disc replacement surgeries.
Before moving into private practice, Dr. Teo served at Changi General Hospital (CGH), where he held the roles of Director of Spine Service and CGH site chief of SingHealth Duke-NUS Spine Centre. In these roles, he worked closely with multidisciplinary teams to improve care for patients with complex spine conditions.
Dr. Teo holds a Master of Medicine in Orthopaedic Surgery from the National University of Singapore (NUS) and is a graduate of the NUS Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine. He further developed his expertise through a clinical fellowship in spine surgery at Spine Ortho Clinic in Melbourne, Australia. He obtained a diploma in spine surgery by Eurospine and further developed his expertise in spinal surgery through a clinical fellowship. He is also a fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh (FRCSed) and member of the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland (MRCS).
In addition to his clinical practice, Dr. Teo has a strong commitment to education and medical leadership. He is a Clinical Assistant Professor at Duke-NUS Medical School and has served as a Clinical Lecturer at NUS Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine. He contributes to the professional development of young doctors as a member of the Core Faculty for the SingHealth Post-Graduate Year 1 Program.
His leadership extends to various roles within the medical community, including serving on the Executive Committee of the Singapore Spine Society. Dr. Teo has also been involved in multiple committees focused on improving healthcare quality, including the Spinal Fusion Value-Driven Care Programme.
Outside of his professional life, Dr. Teo enjoys jogging, cycling, and spending time with his family, as well as exploring new foods and enjoying a good cup of coffee.
