About

Dr Seah graduated from the National University of Singapore in the year 2000 with a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (M.B.B.S) and attained his Master of Medicine (Orthopaedic Surgery) in 2006. In 2009, he completed his advanced surgical training in the specialty of Orthopaedic Surgery and qualified as a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh. In the same year, the Ministry of Health Specialist Accreditation Board awarded him full registration as an Orthopaedic Specialist.

His areas of interest include orthopaedic traumatology, hip and knee arthroplasty, and foot and ankle surgery. He was awarded the ASEAN Travelling Fellowship in 2007, as well as a Ministry of Health Health Manpower Development Plan Award in 2010 to pursue further training in the field of Orthopaedic Traumatology and spent a year  working at the leading Charite University of Medicine in Berlin, Germany. While working at the Charite University Hospital, he was deeply involved in the care of polytrauma patients and gained advanced techniques in treating complex fractures. In addition, he trained at the renowned Carl-Gustav-Carus Institute in Dresden, Germany where he advanced his surgical techniques in the field of foot and ankle surgery.

He is deeply involved in the care of geriatric hip fracture patients. He was a member of the Ministry of Health CPG group working on setting up a nationwide clinical practice guideline for the management of geriatric hip fracture patients. He have also been a member of the Ministry of Health’s Integrated Care Pathway group for geriatric hip fractures. In addition, he lead a multidisciplinary team in developing Khoo Teck Puat Hospital’s inaugural Integrated Practice Unit for geriatric hip fractures. He is an active faculty of the AO International, which is the foremost academic organization in the field of orthopaedics. He have been invited to lecture and train orthopaedic surgeons in Singapore and regional countries such as China, India and Indonesia. He was also the chairperson for the AOTrauma Singapore Principles Course in 2013.
