Can Cardiac Screening Save Lives?

DESCRIPTION

Gain insights from Dr Brian Khoo and Dr Tan Boon Yew on cardiac health at this seminar.

Dr Brian Khoo will speak on why and when you need cardiac screening, empowering you to make informed decisions about your heart health. He is among the few doctors in Singapore to have been accepted to the US-based Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education’s sponsorship programme as an interventional cardiology fellow. He also chaired the Acute Myocardial Infarction (AMI) workgroup, which was instrumental in setting up Singapore’s 24-hour Primary Percutaneous Coronary Intervention service.

Dr Tan Boon Yew will speak on sudden cardiac death and aim to address the question of heritability of this “killer” disease, explore the possibility of identifying family members who are at risk, and the potential steps we can take to mitigate this risk. He is a Certified Cardiac Device Specialist (CCDS) as well as a Certified Electrophysiology Specialist (CEPS-A) with the International Board of Heart Rhythm Examiners (IBHRE), an international organisation that provides certification in cardiac device therapy and cardiac rhythm management.
