A: Chest pain, medically referred to as angina pectoris, may be described as sharp, pulling, stabbing, poking, burning or squeezing in nature. It may occur in isolation, or with symptoms such as cold sweat, shortness of breath, palpitations, giddiness, nausea, vomiting or loss of consciousness.
