MOUNT ALVERNIA HOSPITAL WELCOMES NEW YEAR’S FIRST BABIES BORN ON 01 JAN 2019, 00:00AM AND SECOND AT 00:13AM

SINGAPORE, JANUARY 01, 2019 – As we celebrate the New Year, a baby boy been delivered at Mount Alvernia Hospital at the stroke of midnight on New Year’s day. And a baby girl born just 13 minutes after.

Baby Boy – Reyes Neo
Weighing a healthy 3.120kg, the baby boy Reyes Neo, was delivered naturally at 00:00:04 after his mother went into labour for six hours.

He is the first baby for parents, Mr Neo Ching Liang, 33, a Cash Cage Supervisor and Mdm Lee Hui Ling, 26, a Money Changer Teller. The couple knew each other through work and dated for more than a year before getting married in March 2017.

“The joy was undescribable when I first saw Reyes,” said Mr Neo. “Reyes means royal, and we hope that he will be healthy and lead a good life.”

Baby Girl – Charlotte Lim
Weighing 2.905kg, the baby girl, Charlotte Lim, was delivered naturally at 00:13 after her mother went into labour for three hours without epidural.

She is also first baby for proud parents, Mr Marcus Lim, 33, a Sales Director in Market Research and Mdm Koh Bi Qi, 28, a Travel Concierge Consultant. They both knew each other for more than 14 years ago, when Mr Lim was the assistant badminton coach to Mdm Koh.

“It may be a ‘crazy’ idea to opt for a natural birth without epidural, but I wanted to experience it and I believe I can do it. It was an unforgettable experience. I am very thankful to see healthy Charlotte born into the world,” said Mdm Koh.

“I am happy and very grateful to the arrival of baby Charlotte. The family is thrilled and she is the first grandchild for my parents.” said Mr Lim.

“Here’s wishing the little one, mummy and daddy as well as all in the family good health and stay happy always,” said Ms Shirley Tay, Director of Nursing.

Ms Tay also presented hampers and gift, including breastfeeding products and baby diapers, from sponsors to both parents. While the first born – Reyes receives a red packet from Mount Alvernia Hospital and also a limited edition Singapore Bicentennial blanket.

All other New Year babies born in Mount Alvernia Hospital will also receive a gift pack.
